Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union
Estonia will be holding the presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2017. The presidency is responsible for organizing the work of the Council and working parties and defending the achieved agreements in negotiations with the European Commission and the Parliament.

Minister of Health and Labour Jevgeni Ossinovski
Jevgeni Ossinovski is the Minister of Health and Labour of the Republic of Estonia from 23 November 2016. He has been the Chairman of the Social Democratic Party since 30 May 2015.
Jevgeni Ossinovski was also the Minister of Health and Labour of the Republic of Estonia from 2015–2016.
From 2014–2015, Ossinovski was the Minister of Education and Research and then a Member of the 13th Riigikogu, where he was a Member of the Cultural Affairs Committee.
From 2011–2014, Ossinovski was a member of the 12th Riigikogu. He was a member of the European Union Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu and a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Born on 15th March 1986 in Kohtla-Järve, Ossinovski has graduated from Tallinn Secondary Science School. Ossinovski acquired Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tartu on the speciality of Philosophy. He has a Master’s degree (cum laude) in Philosophy from Warwick University (UK) as well as a Master’s degree (cum laude) in Politology from London School of Economics and Political Science.
