In accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, employers are obliged to organise and cover the cost of medical checks for any employees whose health may be affected in the course of their work by risk factors of the working environment or the nature of their work.
The nature of the medical checks provided will depend on the risk factors that a specific working environment presents. In order to identify the risk factors that the working environment in a company presents, the employer must carry out a risk analysis. The procedure for the provision of medical checks to employees is enacted by the Minister of Social Affairs.
